Ingredients

For the Burgers

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

Instructions

Make the Bacon Jam

  1. Cook chopped bacon in a skillet until crispy
  2. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving a little bacon fat in the pan
  3. Add onions and cook over medium-low heat until soft and caramelized (about 15–20 minutes)
  4. Stir in Bourbon Balsamic Vinegar and brown sugar
  5. Simmer until thickened and jam-like
  6. Stir bacon back in

Make the Burgers

  1. Form beef into burger patties
  2. Season with salt and pepper
  3. Grill or cook in a skillet over medium-high heat until desired doneness
  4. Add cheese during the final minute

Assemble

  1. Toast buns if desired
  2. Add burger patties
  3. Spoon bourbon balsamic bacon jam over the top
  4. Serve immediately
