Warm brie, crisp apple, and flaky puff pastry make these little bites an easy addition to a Halloween gathering. Seven Barrels Red Apple Balsamic Vinegar goes on after baking, adding a sweet, tangy finish to every bite.
They look festive on a serving platter, but take about 30 minutes from start to finish. Serve them while the brie is still warm.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 16–18 minutes
Makes: 18 bites
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
- 8 ounces brie, cut into 18 small pieces
- 1 crisp red apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons Seven Barrels Red Apple Balsamic Vinegar
- Fresh rosemary for garnish
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Lightly grease 18 cups of a mini muffin pan.
Step 2
Cut each puff pastry sheet into 9 equal pieces. Gently press one piece into each prepared muffin cup.
Step 3
Place a piece of brie in each pastry cup. Top with a few thin apple slices.
Step 4
Bake for 16–18 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown. Let the bites rest in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a serving platter.
Step 5
Drizzle with Seven Barrels Red Apple Balsamic Vinegar and add a little fresh rosemary. Serve warm.
Serving Suggestions
Arrange the bites on a dark platter with a few whole red apples and rosemary sprigs for a simple Halloween presentation. They also work well alongside a cheese board, savory hand pies, or a pitcher of spiced apple cider.
Chef’s Tip
Add the balsamic just before serving so the pastry stays crisp. If you’re preparing for guests, cut the brie and pastry ahead of time, then slice the apple and assemble the bites shortly before baking.
